This paper was developed by the student Bernardo Mateus, for the subject of Human Resources Management, with the porpoise of commenting the following declaration: " HRM functions has to be integrated together and with strategic problems if they are to produce a contribution to HR outcomes or the ‘bottom line' intended for the company. ” Being so , throughout this essay, I will be under-going a brief definition of " organisation” and how the importance of the Human Resources Department in every industry, is growing in the last years. I will be also describing the different Human Resources functions and ideal issues, and explaining the way they must connect with each other in order to achieve results compatible with the organisation's main point here.

Being so , all organisations regardless of the dimension or porpoise, have human resources, and those recruiting are all several, have different demands and need a different managing, in order to achieve in the most effective way the goals in the organisation (McNamara, n. d. ). Nevertheless this hasn't been always noticed like that, Before, employees and HR departments were regarded as necessary but expensive overheads, the costs of which had to be in the mind by the business (Nankervis, ou al., 2011) This vision was changed in 1933 when Elton Mayo reported in his book, The Human Problems of an Commercial Civilisation, the results of your experiment he conducted in a factory in Western Electric's Hawthorne Performs in Chicago from 1927 to 1932 (Budhwar & Aryee, 2007). This experiment consisted, within a first stage, in learning how the workers from that stock would behave when exploit various factors, such as elevating the lighting in the work place, being offered scheduled function breaks and shorter working weeks. The results from this first stage were incredibly positive, seeing that production and productivity improved during the test period (Mayo, 1933). On a second period, Mayo put in considerable time interviewing the workers in order to realise why when the physical and environmental state were improved, an increase in productivity was apparent. Turned out the main factor was not the physical adjustments, but the interpersonal and man factors, mainly because during the period of research, the employees experienced a genuine proper care from the business. It was in that case born a persons Relations University, that assumed that managing is a people-oriented business, and also to insure large levels of production and spirits, the business must give a good working environment, offer perimeter benefits, cultural benefits and appear to show real concern intended for workers at your workplace and away from work (Mayo, 1933).
